The Bow Bells is a traditional family run pub. It was built in the 1860s opposite Bow Railway Station. It has a distinct bright orange exterior. The name Bow Bells and the Pearly King on the sign refer to the fact that traditionally Cockneys have to be born within the sound of Bow bells. However, this pub is too far from the bells of St-Mary-le-Bow on Cheapside to qualify. Although, it is one of the closest drinking holes to West Ham’s new football ground. This pub was voted one of the best pubs in Bow by Londonist readers for its friendly welcome and genuine 'guest' beers.
