Liquorice Allsorts were created by accident in 1899 when a salesman dropped his tray of mixed sweets and the buyer liked the assorted collection of sweets. Liquorice is made from the liquorice root, originally only used for medicinal purposes to treat stomach complaints. In 1760 with the addition of sugar, they became popular sweets. George Bassett created the Allsorts with liquorice and fondant that we enjoy today.

A lovely retro sweet, now in zero calorie print form!
