Hurley House is one of the buildings on Arnold Circus, which is part of the Boundary Estate. This was built as the first social housing in the UK to replace the Old Nichol Slums in the area. The people who used to live in this area worked in a number of trades making such things as buttons, cabinets, chairs, match boxes and shoes.
